School and History

Formerly the school is known as Caloocan Elementary School Unit II or CES II. It was founded in 1961, when Caloocan Elementary School increased its population it was separated by the mother school. It used to occupy rented buildings at P. Burgos St. with 680 pupils and 17 teachers. The school only offered primary education then.

In 1976, a school building for CES II was constructed along P. Sevilla St. between 9th and 10th Avenue, which is used to be the Caloocan High School oval. It became the first building for CES II.

The school moved to its new building in October 1977, that year, the school offered a complete Elementary Education. In its new location, population remarkably had increased yearly. Additional buildings were constructed, including an industrial arts building and home unit. Physical facilities were improved that it was awarded as one of the divisions most improved schools. In July 2005, the City Ordinance was approved changing the Schools name from Caloocan Elementary School Unit II to Gregoria de Jesus Elementary School.

Now Gregoria de Jesus Elementary School has 4 storey 12 classrooms New Building, 3 storey 9 classrooms Dep Ed Building, 2 storey Cariño building, 2 storey Bagong Lipunan building and 2 storey old building. 3 storey building is being constructed this October, 2015.

Gregoria de Jesus Elementary School is a P-III school with two thousand five hundred forty-eight(2,548) school children. The school offered a complete elementary school with Kindergarten and ALS classes. Now, the school is implementing Abot Alam Program.

The school used the K-12 curriculum for Kinder to Grade VI, Basic Education Curriculum for Grade V to VI pupils and Alternative Learning System and Abot Alam Program for Out of School Youth.
